This year DPS Murrays expanded significantly with the purchase of KT Pallets and Cases Ltd.

KT Pallets were a family run business with over 40 years’ experience. This acquisition has given us increased capacity and an even more significant presence as a major player in pallet manufacturing.

Providing a wide variety of pallets and packaging products, the company has its eye on the next 20 years, with a strong management team being brought in to manage growth and THE CHALLENGE

Murrays have been well established in their field for quite some time, having achieved this with only a logo. The quality of service and products has attracted some very large customers the last 5 years, and the company wanted a brand identity that could be used on their marketing materials and accurately reflect the growth of the company and size of the customers they are attracting.

THE SOLUTION

The client’s logo already set out the company’s colours. With it being well established in their existing company documents, we decided to use this to form the basis of our designs, so as to not stray too far from what was already recognised by their customer base.

The green naturally lent itself to the organic materials the company uses to make its products. We utilised these in their website, along with bespoke images and drone footage we took of their production sites to showcase the size of the operation, and the types of pallets their produce.

The shapes of the logo also offered a nice geometric pattern to include in the marketing materials, business cards and email signature.

Quite often small sized construction companies get by with little, if any branding. Quite often they will have a basic logo and usually that is about it. Very few have a website, and any marketing materials are done without any thought to creating a brand structure.

RM Roofing’s success meant they were fast moving from being a small business into the medium category. To enable them to maintain, and indeed grow the business, they would need to enhance their marketing. We advised them to create a brand style that would clearly elevate them above the ‘small businesses’ who got by with just a logo. The professional looking aesthetics and materials would reflect the company’s growth, success and reassure prospective customers that they were reliable, professional and good at what they do.

We achieved this by properly branding marketing materials such as email signatures, business cards, flyers and signs to hang from the scaffolding and A-frame boards to promote them whilst on site. In addition, we have build RM Roofing a website which provides further information to prospective customers, showcasing their credentials as the best people for the job.

As a result of the work we have and continue to undertake, the customer experience from start to finish is supported by professional materials.

Fortunately the logo colours allowed for us to easily begin to build a brand in line with the brief. High-end, town house type residential imagery used on the new website we built blended nicely with the brand colours and would better relate to the type of clientele they wanted to attract.

Clean designs were used for information booklets, forms and documents to mirror the professional, elegant style of the website.

THE CHALLENGE

The solution was to work collaboratively with the team to understand their company objectives both on a short term and long term basis and then understand who their ideal customers.

The company colours were brought in line with the sector and softer shapes and fonts were used to reflect the care element of their services.

The branding was extended to their business cards, email signatures and social media banners and a brand nw website was build to better serve the company’s needs.

We started with a full review of the business’ existing marketing tools and strategies. We analysed each one to assess its strengths and weaknesses. Once these had been considered, we came up with ideas to capitalise on the strengths and suggestions to repair weaknesses, with everything being included in a detailed plan that BSFS could refer to over the course of the next 12 months to make sure everything was on track and to be able to prioritise the next points of focus.

With the strategy being an ongoing process, we broke it down, beginning with refreshing the companies branding to make it feel more modern and dynamic. We have since moved on to improving their online presence, by making sure visually it is consistent, strong and in all of the right places. This includes the development of their existing website, which is a project that remains ongoing, their social media content as well as redesigning their email signatures, business cards and letterhead so the more commonly seen communication materials matched the new branding.

Caroline, the founder, has a strong and fantastically vibrant personality and came with a clear vision of what she wanted to achieve. The business also had an existing logo which used lots of colours which needed to be incorporated to remain brand consistent.

THE SOLUTION

Working closely with Caroline we established a colour scheme for each of the different pages to allow the use of multiple colours but in a more considered and harmonious way. This allowed us to keep the bold and vibrant feel to the website, in line with the brief, without stepping over the lines of good taste and style.

If you were to speak to Caroline or one of her team, you would quickly get the same positive, friendly and knowledgeable feelings that are portrayed in the finished version of the website.

With Caroline been a very self sufficient individual and always keen to learn new skills, we spent time training her on how to make minor amendments to the website to allow for an element of independence and flexibility, so she could continue to update the website as the business evolved.

THE CHALLENGE

The Barn is not located on the main high street in the town in which is it located and so faces an even greater challenge in attracting footfall, whilst also competing in the busy online world. Our challenge was to help them find their voice in and amongst the cacophony of noise, whilst remaining true to their philosophies and beliefs.

THE SOLUTION

To address the physical footfall issue we built them a brand which could then be used to promote its presence through signage, social media posts and printed advertisements. We provided supporting marketing materials for events they have hosted and promotional materials they can give out to customers to encourage them back.

At the same time, we have helped them to built a strong online offering to meet with modern demands. Customers can enjoy a very similar level of access to products and courses online, meaning they can still enjoy and support the venue from the comfort of their home. We have done with by developing their website to include additional products and services, providing the means to host online courses, promotional graphics and videos to promote these benefits and the designing of bespoke craft templates to sell.

The Barn can now generate custom on the physical and digital world, meaning they can meet the demand of a wider range of customers and adapt quickly to the seasons and high street climate.

THE CHALLENGE

The challenge was to create an identity that would make them stand out from their competitors in what is a niche industry, presenting a fresh, modern style, but whilst also displaying the professionalism and attention to detail required to comply with the various forms of legislation, to provide a piece of mind to prospective customers.

THE SOLUTION

We started by providing a marketing plan to allow us to maximise the budget available having regard to the challenges and requirements within the industry.

Once we fully understood the sector we created a brand identity and logo which would form the foundations of any future marketing elements. The style was clean, professional and modern in line with our brief.

Having created a foundation upon which to build, we designed a website that would fully exhibit the range of services, along with a brochure that could be printed or electronically sent to prospective clients. This would allow them to educate prospects in the benefits of their services which are perhaps so niche and unique they are not necessarily fully understood.

We have also created a social media identity, along with video and graphic content and supplied them with branded clothing and equipment which means when they are out on site, people who stand and watch the drone with interest, also see the name of the company, which may lead to future opportunities.

We continue to work with Squadrone Media on an ongoing basis to help build up their customer base and to meet their marketing requirements as they grow.

Cheshire Lines Football Club (locally known as ‘the Chesh’) was formed in 1874 as a representative team of what was then British Rail. It later became Cheshire Lines when British Rail ceased to exist in 1997.

The club was relaunched in 2015 and since then its teams have won 2 league titles, 2 league cups and achieved 2 promotions.

The club was a founding member of the Liverpool Football Association and consequently holds a prestigious senior club status with the FA. We also carry the FA’s Chartered Standard mark of excellence.

The team play open age football in Division 2 of the West Cheshire League, which is tier 12 in the FA system.

THE CHALLENGE

The number of teams in Merseyside has reduced by more than 60% in the last 10 years as fewer young people participate or commit to the sport due to increased alternative forms of entertainment. At the same time, the costs of running a club, hiring facilities and buying equipment has continued to increase, leaving clubs facing greater expenses at a time when they have fewer players.

We wanted to help support Cheshire Lines in addressing these specific issues by creating ways in which they could attract more players and retain them longer within the club.

We also believe the best way to generate more financial support was to build long-standing commercial relationships with local businesses.

THE SOLUTION

To tackle the attraction and retention of players, we focused on creating unique content which made the club stand out from their competitors. Bespoke, high-quality graphics, highlights, podcasts and mobile app allowed for existing players to remain involved in the goings-on at the club whether they were physically present or not. Prospective players would see this content and recognise the clubs professional approach to all aspects of the game and this might potentially be the deciding factor over joining them or a competitor.

Having built an engaged audience across the full spectrum of social media and online platforms, and creating a multitude of assets/features which allowed for monetisation, we were able to put together packages to attract commercial partners. These packages specifically set out the benefits that would be enjoyed in return for financial investment and gives them the peace of mind that handing over money would not be the end of the relationship.

It was important to build a philosophy of prioritising the generation of work for commercial partners so as to build a mutually beneficial long-term relationship. This would ensure future partnerships were generally in addition to as opposed to replacing financial support.

Our initial brief has been achieved and we now continue to build and approve upon what is already in place to add further value to the club and its future success.
