Being within such a regulated sector and dealing in services that relate to high value assets, the style needed to reflect the highly professional expertise on offer.

THE SOLUTION

Fortunately the logo colours allowed for us to easily begin to build a brand in line with the brief. High-end, town house type residential imagery used on the new website we built blended nicely with the brand colours and would better relate to the type of clientele they wanted to attract.

Clean designs were used for information booklets, forms and documents to mirror the professional, elegant style of the website.

THE SOLUTION

We went for a caricature of the owner, dressed as a ninja and with a spanner instead of swords in order to meet the brief.

The design concepts included the character performing a number of actions, but in the end the client went with a zen like pose, to portray calm in the face or an emergency.

The imagery and artwork we used complimented the logo and colour theme.

THE CHALLENGE

THE SOLUTION

The solution was to work collaboratively with the team to understand their company objectives both on a short term and long term basis and then understand who their ideal customers.

The company colours were brought in line with the sector and softer shapes and fonts were used to reflect the care element of their services.

The branding was extended to their business cards, email signatures and social media banners and a brand nw website was build to better serve the company’s needs.

THE SOLUTION

We started with a full review of the business’ existing marketing tools and strategies. We analysed each one to assess its strengths and weaknesses. Once these had been considered, we came up with ideas to capitalise on the strengths and suggestions to repair weaknesses, with everything being included in a detailed plan that BSFS could refer to over the course of the next 12 months to make sure everything was on track and to be able to prioritise the next points of focus.

With the strategy being an ongoing process, we broke it down, beginning with refreshing the companies branding to make it feel more modern and dynamic. We have since moved on to improving their online presence, by making sure visually it is consistent, strong and in all of the right places. This includes the development of their existing website, which is a project that remains ongoing, their social media content as well as redesigning their email signatures, business cards and letterhead so the more commonly seen communication materials matched the new branding.

Eco Decor’s logo and sector are synonymous with colour and bright, bold colours. This is a dream for designers because it allows so much more creativity and flexibility both in terms of graphics and imagery. The graphic style includes a contract between the sleek, simple, black which is often associated with prestige, and the bright fun colours from their logo. The green reflects the eco-friendly ethos of the business and the modern, stylish imagery supplements, as opposed to dominates the graphics.

The gang now have a consistent brand style on their social media graphics, signs and flyers and a framework upon which to develop future materials.

Working closely with Caroline we established  a colour scheme for each of the different pages to allow the use of multiple colours but in a more considered and harmonious way. This allowed us to keep the bold and vibrant feel to the website, in line with the brief, without stepping over the lines of good taste and style.

If you were to speak to Caroline or one of her team, you would quickly get the same positive, friendly and knowledgeable feelings that are portrayed in the finished version of the website.

With Caroline been a very self sufficient individual and always keen to learn new skills, we spent time training her on how to make minor amendments to the website to allow for an element of independence and flexibility, so she could continue to update the website as the business evolved.

Refreshing a businesses brand is always a difficult task, particularly when budgets are restricted and there is existing marketing materials with their current branding displayed.

You need to strike a balance between modernising the style of a logo, without doing it to such an extent that it becomes unrecognisable to existing customers. We also needed to keep an element of similarity so as to allow the phasing out of the old logo on van decals, marketing flyers, clothing, business cards etc. when budget permitted but without creating a distinct jarring between the old and the new.

The revised logo was designed to keep the same iconography and colours to that of the original version So it was very distinctly the same business.

We softened the icons with a more round shape and modernised it with the use of a different font.

This allowed us to refresh the branding styles which was subsequently used in the trifold flyer which was intended for mail drops and social media graphic templates to help promote their services online.

The labelling allows for a variation in colours to allow easy flavour differentiation and alternative breeds of dogs can be displayed so prospective customers can buy something they perceive as representing their own dog, adding a more personal element to the product.

BNI Genesis is a networking group that meets each week in Wirral.

The aim of the group is to build trust and strong relationships between the members so they can promote each others businesses with confidence. With a room of fellow businesses acting like your sales team, the challenge is for them to find you work and you likewise for them.

Our managing director, Mark Pollard was appointed President of the group in October 2018, with a view to growing the group and increasing the business passed.

THE CHALLENGE

There were 18 members and approximately £700K in business had been passed in the preceding 12 months.

The aim was to stamp Mark’s identity and style on the group in a way which added value to the brand and made the members part of the new chapter in the groups history.

THE SOLUTION

When assessing how to meet the challenge we identified that each BNI group in the region had its own name and culture. It was decided that we would provide a ‘Genesis’ brand, identity and culture which the members could embrace as their own, feel involved and be proud to promote their involvement with the group.

We created a supplemental logo to go with the existing BNI branding, allowing both to be displayed hand-in-hand. The weekly meeting agenda was also modified to include new features, exclusive to the group which would add fun and entertainment to the meeting. This was to make the meeting feel less arduous but without detracting from the important focus on passing work.

To attract new members we created engaging social media graphics and set up pages on all the major platforms to improve the chances of people seeing our invitations and raising the profiles of our members.

To ensure the fun element was balanced with a clear air of professionalism, we created branded materials to be used at every meeting. We created branded banners to guide people into the venue, meeting note sheets, name badges and place holders which were bespoke for each member and visitor, displaying their name, business and logo. This made them feel welcome and valued. We also designed a powerpoint presentation which mirrored the brand and professional approach, whilst also incorporating the fun vibe we wanted to generate.

We introduced a strategic means identify which trades and professionals we could pass most work to and tracked that value so as to be able to be specific about the opportunities joining presented and started a podcast to further increase the exposure of our members.

When Mark finished his term as president, the group had grown by 20% and the business passed had risen from £700K over a 12 month period to £1.2m. A further £3m had been identified as being passed out of the group and because of our tracking methods we were able to pinpoint the beneficiaries.

THE CHALLENGE

The Barn is not located on the main high street in the town in which is it located and so faces an even greater challenge in attracting footfall, whilst also competing in the busy online world. Our challenge was to help them find their voice in and amongst the cacophony of noise, whilst remaining true to their philosophies and beliefs.

THE SOLUTION

To address the physical footfall issue we built them a brand which could then be used to promote its presence through signage, social media posts and printed advertisements. We provided supporting marketing materials for events they have hosted and promotional materials they can give out to customers to encourage them back. 

At the same time, we have helped them to built a strong online offering to meet with modern demands. Customers can enjoy a very similar level of access to products and courses online, meaning they can still enjoy and support the venue from the comfort of their home. We have done with by developing their website to include additional products and services, providing the means to host online courses, promotional graphics and videos to promote these benefits and the designing of bespoke craft templates to sell.

The Barn can now generate custom on the physical and digital world, meaning they can meet the demand of a wider range of customers and adapt quickly to the seasons and high street climate.
