THE CHALLENGE

NewGen Networking came to us as a brand new start up and came about during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

As a start-up business, they needed a logo, brand guidelines creating, and all of their marketing materials designing. Their unique selling point was to offer memberships at a very affordable price, much lower than local competitors. However, they still wanted to deliver a higher quality product than those competitors, and so needed the branding to reflect the professional quality of the product. This was particularly important because the networking sector is extremely competitive.

THE SOLUTION

The directors of the company selected the white, black and gold coloured logo from a whole range of options. The felt that the colours made them stand out from the competition, and gave a feeling of quality and prestige. The logo itself was futuristic and reflected the new generation of networking ethos they wanted to promote.

All subsequent marketing materials followed this brand style. This included PowerPoint presentations for their meetings, nameplates and badges for attendees, trifold leaflets that visitors could takeaway with member details, pull up banners, flyers and social media graphics for the platforms we were asked to manage.

We built a multifunctional website that provided information about the networking organisation, promoted the members and also offered an easy way for visitors to view and sign on for their preferred meeting, using a calendar feature, allowing them to book a time and date that suited.

Finally we produced, edited and published their podcast, which involved 10min live interviews with members at meetings, and a 30 minute ‘Tips from the expert’ type feature. To help promote this podcast and encourage listeners to attend meetings, we put together an advert they could use on social media, the podcast itself and their website.

THE SOLUTION

Given the nature of their service, the design was extremely important to get right. If the aesthetic did not match the standard of their service, their creative design, or attract their target audience, it would make life very difficult. It is very hard to persuade someone to let you design their office, if your branding looks ugly! We therefore drilled right into the core of their preferred design style. This was very much Scandinavian and therefore required a clean, natural and geometric design.

We kept the branding colours simple – white, grey and black – so that the attention would be drawn to the pop of colours from the imagery used. This would make their designs the front and centre star of the show. 

We also created an brand imagery effect which depicted their service of concept to reality.

Their website also needed revamping. This is currently ongoing, but will incorporate the brand guidelines we have now established, to result in a clean, professional and stylish look.

THE CHALLENGE

Despite being a successful school, they had not received the benefit of any focused marketing for a number of decades. This meant that beyond the word of school children, parents, staff and former pupils, there was very little knowledge of the schools existence to the wider public. Located near to the largest privately owned school in the area, this made recruitment a lot more difficult than it needed to be. We were brought on board to achieve two things (1) raise the profile of the school in the Liverpool, Wirral and Chester area (2) initiate a targeted campaign to attract parents thinking of sending THE SOLUTION

Prenton Prep is quite literally a hidden gem. Since it was purchased by Forfar Education in 2022, a significant investment has been made to improve the facilities and infrastructure of the school. With more in the pipeline, it is an exciting time to be involved with Prenton Prep and very much worth shouting about.

Additionally, the school has an almost unique family feel. As soon as you walk in the door, it feels like you have arrived somewhere you are welcomed and belong. The staff are warm and friendly, the parents are active participants in making the school as good as it can be, and the children polite, enthusiastic and happy to be at the school. Their ‘Outstanding’ rating with the school inspection system is reflective of the community that exists, in the face of little investment in the facilities prior to Forfar’s involvement.

Whilst it was important to showcase the great work being done by Forfar in the building and facilities, it was our belief that the children, their personalities, hopes and dreams, should be the focus of the story, supported by the community that makes Prenton so uniquely amazing. Our social media campaign involved taking lots (and lots) of photos and videos to highlight all the great day-to-day activities at the school, as well as interviews with the kids and parents telling the world what they thought of the school. Our advertising campaigns carried the slogan ‘Be who you are, become who you want to be’, to reflect the holistic approach to education taken by the school. Children are helped to find confidence in being who they are, so they will feel able to pursue their dreams as well rounded individuals. Children from the school were are models for the graphics on adverts because they are the stars of the show. We also insured that any printed marketing materials were environmentally considerate and added value to the recipient.

THE CHALLENGE

THE SOLUTION

The scope for designs was limited by the existing brand style used by the client’s website. There was no plan to update/modify this and so we needed to ensure any design was in keeping with the existing feel and aesthetic.

The company promotes the fact that they deal with a lot of international clients. The imagery was there used to portray this fact and to incorporate their logo.

The brochure was clean, simple and modern, to appeal to the type of progressive clients they were looking to attract.

THE SOLUTION

The client’s logo already set out the company’s colours. With it being well established in their existing company documents, we decided to use this to form the basis of our designs, so as to not stray too far from what was already recognised by their customer base.

The green naturally lent itself to the organic materials the company uses to make its products. We utilised these in their website, along with bespoke images and drone footage we took of their production sites to showcase the size of the operation, and the types of pallets their produce.

The shapes of the logo also offered a nice geometric pattern to include in the marketing materials, business cards and email signature.

THE SOLUTION

The client wanted to maintain a classic style, in keeping with their logo, which was designed as a coat of arms to imply the business has been established for decades.

The design style we came up with followed a ‘green’ vibe to denote the type of business, give it a natural feeling and to reflect an environmental awareness.

In addition to design, we also shot and edited a drone video of a plot of land the client was asked to quote to maintain. The size of the plot and its proximity to power lines meant the video offered the customer the chance to see the factors mentioned in their tender. This was bookended with a logo animation to maintain the professional quality of the video.

THE SOLUTION

Quite often small sized construction companies get by with little, if any branding. Quite often they will have a basic logo and usually that is about it. Very few have a website, and any marketing materials are done without any thought to creating a brand structure.

RM Roofing’s success meant they were fast moving from being a small business into the medium category. To enable them to maintain, and indeed grow the business, they would need to enhance their marketing. We advised them to create a brand style that would clearly elevate them above the ‘small businesses’ who got by with just a logo. The professional looking aesthetics and materials would reflect the company’s growth, success and reassure prospective customers that they were reliable, professional and good at what they do.

We achieved this by properly branding marketing materials such as email signatures, business cards, flyers and signs to hang from the scaffolding and A-frame boards to promote them whilst on site. In addition, we have build RM Roofing a website which provides further information to prospective customers, showcasing their credentials as the best people for the job.

As a result of the work we have and continue to undertake, the customer experience from start to finish is supported by professional materials.

One of the most popular and high-profile figures in Liverpool’s business community, John aimed to transform the lives of people through his wealth of experience from the University of life.

Sadly, John Haynes died in early December 2020, but not before he finished an autobiography detailing his life and the lessons he had learnt along the way, titled “Flying with the Eagles” mirroring his favourite saying.

THE SOLUTION

For the book cover we felt strong, bold and extrovert colours were needed to reflect Johns unrelenting personality. Design and style need to be eye-catching as well as good quality supposed to attract the attention of people perusing this particular genre.

In terms of the marketing strategy for selling the books, it was decided that whilst the contents of the book were autobiographical in nature, the content was actually more orientated towards life coaching and self-help. This has certainly been John’s intention when writing the book. We therefore devised a strategy which would focus the book towards attracting those who wanted to learn or develop the skills that John touched upon within the book.

Among a number of strategy propositions, after having carried out extensive research in the area of business and life coaching books, it was recommended that John also produce an audio version of the book. Apart from it being a substantially growing sector of the market, it’s also meant he was catering for those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia, which John himself had to navigate as a challenge throughout his life – thus making his book accessible to all.
