Improving standards for renters
Educating tenants about their rights so they are empowered and can share this knowledge with other tenants.
Providing training to advice services and council staff to allow for more effective enforcement of rogue landlords and agents to protect tenants.

THE CHALLENGE

We were tasked with designing a logo, business cards, email signatures and branding up the existing documentation that they provided to service users.

THE SOLUTION

Justice for Tenants did not want, nor need any frills. They are a non-profit organisation, their name says exactly what they do, and they wanted their logo and marketing materials to follow suit.

We did an number of logo designs, and the one they chose included a house icon which incorporated the JFT initials of their name. The iconography very much reflects the clear message of ‘what they do’.

In terms of brand design for their documentation, we simply used the the shape of the roof from the logo as the geometric shape to provide a bit of style and colour. The font is deliberately clear and easy to read, to all the documents to feel less cluttered and digestible in a way that caters for the variety of people who will use their services.

We felt that a modern, high-end feel to the business would send out the right message to prospective customers.

Given the potentially high levels of funds involved in transactions, prospective clients need to perceive the company as being able to meet and deliver on their needs.

Dark colours suggest high end and blue is a renowned colour for reflecting professionalism, expertise and trust. The font we used was slim, elegant, but strong enough to match the expectations of a customer. We wanted people to look at the branding and imagine a pristinely suited expert at the cutting edge of their sector.

The icon element of the logo is a V & F combined as a geometric shape. The straight lines, pointed corners and futuristic design was intended to match the intensions of the colours and font, whilst also giving the impression that this was a no-nonsense outfit, who would sort out whatever you needed in the most efficient, effective way possible.

THE CHALLENGE

THE SOLUTION

Athletes are experts in their field, but few are great with their own branding. Getting high quality images of the athletes was very difficult. Either they had none, they had a few they had bought from professionals at their competitions, or the best belonged to a third party. This meant we needed to find a way of being able to use great images, but in a way where we were not dependant upon having loads, but still being able to portray the prestige of the athletes.

We therefore created ‘Bitmoji’ characters for each athlete. A bespoke cartoon-like character of them which could be used on all their promotional materials and merchandise. This meant we only needed 4 or 5 good images to emphasise their standing within their field. The Bitmoji characters were also a great way to capture the attention of the children.

We also scrapped the previous designs for the sponsorship packs, marketing materials and stationary and replaced it with sleek new designs that also incorporated colourful animations when needing to appeal to kids.

With video being an important element of their marketing mix, we also created a logo animation that would allow them to cap off promo videos in a professional manner. A good example is the collated video we edited for them during COVID-19, using phone videos taken by some of their athletes to promote the online service they were launching to adapt to the difficult circumstances they were experiencing.

THE CHALLENGE

THE SOLUTION

When you talk about holidays, everybody has their own idea of what that a perfect one looks like. A young, newly married couple may want an adventure of a lifetime on a budget, a family just want somewhere the kids can go away to play whilst the parents get some welcome R&R, or someone wants to fulfil a bucket list dream! Imagery is therefore the most dramatic, effective and easiest way to instantly peak someone’s interest.. We wanted the imagery to be front and centre… the star if you will. This would allow them to simply change the imagery to suit the type of holiday they were selling, the attract that particular target market, and at the time of year those types of holidays were at their most popular.

Most people see holidays sold by Perfect Getaways as a treat. We therefore decided to use their lovely, colourful logo to ‘unveil’ the holiday in a way much like unwrapping a present or opening a curtain to reveal the gift and showcase the latest offerings. The purple, which forms their main brand colours kept the brand continuity as against the multi-coloured imagery, but whilst also allowing the image to remain front and centre.

The Grassroots Network was a brand new business concept and needed branding from the foundation up.

We were tasked with creating a logo and brand style that would be eye-catching. professional, and portray the subject matter quickly and in a way so as to appeal to their target audience – those being people involved in the grassroots game, from referees, league representatives, clubs, coaches and players.

The guys also wanted to launch a podcast talking all things ‘Grassroots football’ but had not idea where to start.

THE SOLUTION

The name of the business gave us the basis of the brand design. Grass is an essential component to the game. The look and smell evoke memories of sporting triumphs, failures, happy times and sad ones. It creates a feeling of being outdoors, the wind in your face, the sun on your skin. It is what is used from the best leagues in the world to toddlers and was the perfect visual basis.

As for the logo, well the font we used is quite strong. We wanted it to represent the goalposts used in sports. It is modern, giving the impression of a forward facing company, but solid and dependable, like those who prop up the grassroots game.

It was important the icon element could stand alone as a favicon, allowing it to be put onto clothing. Again, we carried the green grass theme into this single continuous letter. We merged them for stylistic reasons, but in a way that means the white spaces still allows the eye to picture the vertical element of the R so it is clearly recognisable as a letter.

For the podcast, we created the show artwork and recorded/edited the shows drops (intros & outros) to ensure it had a professional production value. We also spent time with the client to train them on what equipment to buy, how to use it and how to record/edit.

NewGen Networking came to us as a brand new start up and came about during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

As a start-up business, they needed a logo, brand guidelines creating, and all of their marketing materials designing. Their unique selling point was to offer memberships at a very affordable price, much lower than local competitors. However, they still wanted to deliver a higher quality product than those competitors, and so needed the branding to reflect the professional quality of the product. This was particularly important because the networking sector is extremely competitive.

THE SOLUTION

The directors of the company selected the white, black and gold coloured logo from a whole range of options. The felt that the colours made them stand out from the competition, and gave a feeling of quality and prestige. The logo itself was futuristic and reflected the new generation of networking ethos they wanted to promote.

All subsequent marketing materials followed this brand style. This included PowerPoint presentations for their meetings, nameplates and badges for attendees, trifold leaflets that visitors could takeaway with member details, pull up banners, flyers and social media graphics for the platforms we were asked to manage.

We built a multifunctional website that provided information about the networking organisation, promoted the members and also offered an easy way for visitors to view and sign on for their preferred meeting, using a calendar feature, allowing them to book a time and date that suited.

Finally we produced, edited and published their podcast, which involved 10min live interviews with members at meetings, and a 30 minute ‘Tips from the expert’ type feature. To help promote this podcast and encourage listeners to attend meetings, we put together an advert they could use on social media, the podcast itself and their website.

Prenton Prep is quite literally a hidden gem. Since it was purchased by Forfar Education in 2022, a significant investment has been made to improve the facilities and infrastructure of the school. With more in the pipeline, it is an exciting time to be involved with Prenton Prep and very much worth shouting about.

Additionally, the school has an almost unique family feel. As soon as you walk in the door, it feels like you have arrived somewhere you are welcomed and belong. The staff are warm and friendly, the parents are active participants in making the school as good as it can be, and the children polite, enthusiastic and happy to be at the school. Their ‘Outstanding’ rating with the school inspection system is reflective of the community that exists, in the face of little investment in the facilities prior to Forfar’s involvement.

Whilst it was important to showcase the great work being done by Forfar in the building and facilities, it was our belief that the children, their personalities, hopes and dreams, should be the focus of the story, supported by the community that makes Prenton so uniquely amazing. Our social media campaign involved taking lots (and lots) of photos and videos to highlight all the great day-to-day activities at the school, as well as interviews with the kids and parents telling the world what they thought of the school. Our advertising campaigns carried the slogan ‘Be who you are, become who you want to be’, to reflect the holistic approach to education taken by the school. Children are helped to find confidence in being who they are, so they will feel able to pursue their dreams as well rounded individuals. Children from the school were are models for the graphics on adverts because they are the stars of the show. We also insured that any printed marketing materials were environmentally considerate and added value to the recipient.

Fortunately the logo colours allowed for us to easily begin to build a brand in line with the brief. High-end, town house type residential imagery used on the new website we built blended nicely with the brand colours and would better relate to the type of clientele they wanted to attract.

Clean designs were used for information booklets, forms and documents to mirror the professional, elegant style of the website.

THE CHALLENGE

This branding was replicated across their website and social media and was not serving the purpose for which it was intended. It definitely didn’t represent a modern health care service provider.

The solution was to work collaboratively with the team to understand their company objectives both on a short term and long term basis and then understand who their ideal customers.

The company colours were brought in line with the sector and softer shapes and fonts were used to reflect the care element of their services.

The branding was extended to their business cards, email signatures and social media banners and a brand nw website was build to better serve the company’s needs.
